Our People

Kristine Greer is the founder and executive director of Charlene’s Light…a Foundation for Ovarian Cancer. She was diagnosed with Stage lll ovarian cancer nine years ago and now has a passion to help others afflicted by this cancer.  Her dear friend, Charlene Postigo, inspired her to create this foundation. In memory of Charlene and in honor of all who have heard those words “you have cancer”, Kristine promises to make a difference in this fight!

Dr. Carlos Grados is a retired OB/GYN doctor who shares in the passion to help others.  Throughout his career, he saw many women who had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. He now serves on the Board and offers his medical expertise and compassion.

Judy Lautenschlager has served on the Board of Directors for Charlenes Light since  2008 and is currently serving as  treasurer. Judy’s life was first touched by ovarian cancer in May 2001 when her long time friend Kristine Greer announced that her doctor had found a mass on her ovary, it was ovarian cancer.  In May 2005 she got a phone call from her sister-in -law, Jane, announcing the same thing.  She was diagnosed with Stage IIIc ovarian cancer.  After two major surgeries and countless treatments, Jane lost her courageous battle in August of 2010.

Mr. Felipe Postigo was the devoted husband of Charlene Postigo, for whom this foundation was created. He and their three children were deeply affected by ovarian cancer and want to make a difference.

Amanda Winter lost her mother to ovarian cancer in August 2009, just three weeks before Amanda was married.  She became a member of the Board to help raise awareness for this importance cause, and to assist with the planning of events around the community.  She is passionate about raising awareness and enhancing the lives of the women and caregivers she meets.

    Hi Mary Beth,
If you go to the homepage, you can click on “Knowledge for Wellness” on the right side. That should bring you to the half-hour interview. As far as “liking” Charlene’s Light on Facebook, do a search for Charlene’s Light..A Foundation for Ovarian Cancer in the search box. Thank you so much for your support! :)
